At night I get dreamy..
A man with a long, pointed beard smokes a pipe of barley. Down, down, down he goes into a dreamless sleep. A whitewashed woman dives into his dreamless
river where she pulls a stopper from the bottom. A mermaid kicks her tail at the woman, and holds her spiny finger to her lips. 'Shhhhh' bubbles putt, putt, putt out of her lifeless lips. The woman is successful and the river drains slowly as if the earth is very thirsty. The seaweed, fish, mermaids and alligators are all very upset. The man with the long pointed beard lifts his large body out of the hole in the middle of the river. He climbs out with a slither and wakes up.
'I can dream' he says as his wife takes his pipe and leads him to bed.
